Larry I. Young Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Wellspring Lutheran Services of Frankenmuth, with his family at his side. At the age of 82 years. The son of the late Irvine and Helen (Fitch) Young, was born on April 16, 1937 in Saginaw, Michigan. Larry graduated from Saginaw High School. He proudly served for the United States Army. Larry married the love of his life, Sharon E. McGee on November 27, 1965 in Bad Axe, Michigan; she survives him. He worked for the Saginaw Newspaper, delivering papers for over 50 years. Larry is a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and the Saginaw Hall of Shriners. He enjoyed fixing cars, having a couple Corvettes, a Fiero, model cars and motorcycles. His family would say he often wandered around, collecting anything and everything. Above all, he loved and cherished his family.
Surviving besides his wife of 54 years, Sharon; are two sons and one daughter, Terry Young, Mark (Tracy) Young, Michelle (Ron) Albertson all of Saginaw; eight grandchildren, Frankie (Lexi) Younge, Rebecca (Zack) Mossner, Jessica Young (Trevor Geese), Matthew (Kara) Young, Sierra (Michael) Anderson, Mark Mohn-Young (Brianna Gray), LeAnn Albertson, Michael Albertson; three great-grandchildren, Evangeline Mossner, Quinlan Mossner, Ashlyn Clark, and a fourth great-grandchild on the way, Arabella Hope Anderson; one sister, Katie Roedel; two sisters-in-law, Barb Young and Shiela Haddock. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and extended family. Besides his parents, Larry is preceded in death by a son in 1976, Michael Allen Young; a great-grandchild, Bean Anderson; a brother, Jerry Young; and a sister, Sandra Young.
Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 3680 S. Washington Road, Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Gerry Pehler will officiate. A Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass at the church on Tuesday. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Dementia Society of America or the Saginaw Hall of Shriners.
