Laura J. Simons

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister passed unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 10, 2019, at Covenant HealthCare with her family by her side; she was 63 years old. Laura JoAnn Gosen was born on October 31, 1955, in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Calvin and Vivian (Trombley) Gosen. She was a proud 1973 graduate of Bridgeport High School. Laura met the love of her life, William Robert Simons, while at a gathering with friends on Ojibway Island. He noticed her beautiful red hair and had to introduce himself. They were united in marriage on September 24, 1974; he survives her. Laura was a faithful member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing as well as antique collecting. Above all, Laura loved and adored her family, especially her grandchildren. Surviving are her husband of 45 years, William R. Simons of Saginaw; one son and three daughters: Ian (Rachel) Simons of Clarkston, MI; Erin (Pete) Kross of Shields; Amber (Todd) Schroeder of Kansas City, MO; and April Simons of Saginaw; 10 grandchildren with one due in July; two brothers: Dennis Gosen of Saginaw; and Gerald Gosen of Saginaw; and six sisters-in-law. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, Duane Gosen. A private family memorial service will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw, Michigan.
