Smith, Laura M. Saginaw, Michigan Passed away on Wednesday, October 09, 2013 at Cartwright Care Center at the age of 91 years. The daughter of the late Edgar W. and Jessie J. (Pierson) Pease was born on November 3, 1921 in Bay City. She married Howard M. Smith on January 28, 1941; he predeceased her on May 28, 1993. Laura and Howard owned a farm in Hemlock for many years, they enjoyed their large gardens which included a blueberry patch. Laura enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. Surviving are two daughters and a son: Patricia Phillips, Donna (William) Burbank, Billy (Debra) Smith; 7 grandchildren; Kevin Gullifor, Dawn (James) Couture, Daran (Lisa) Lara, Laurie (Craig) Tubbs, Michelle (Carlton) Rose, Jonathan (April) Smith, Austin (Jessica) Smith, 13 great-grandchildren: James and Kyle Couture, Brendan and Courtney Gullifor, Zachary and Brooke Tubbs, Dillian and Hannah Rose, Tyler and Sam Smith, Landin and Sophia Smith, Gabriel Lara and several nieces and nephews. Laura was predeceased by her brothers: Clarence, George "Fred", and Ervin Pease, Burt Pierson, sisters: Amy Cooper, Alma Pardee. Private family services have taken place. Arrangements by W. L.
