Loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and great grandmother passed away at her home in Saginaw on Wednesday, June 7th, 2023, at the age of 73. Lauralee was born in Saginaw on April 15th, 1950, to the late Elmer and Sarah (Gower) Fike. She attended Bridgeport High School and proudly earned her GED as an adult a few years later. She met Theodore Stumpfig at a singles’ dance and the couple would marry a year later in 2002. He survives her. Throughout her life, Lauralee held many positions. She worked at Meijer and cleaned for Bridgeport Charter Township, as well as working as a crossing guard, but her primary role was as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. In her free time, Lauralee enjoyed tending to the flowers in her garden and loved to play scratch off lottery tickets, but her true passion was for her family, especially her great grandbabies. She always spoke her mind and though she was sometimes blunt, she was always honest and always had her family’s interests at heart.
Lauralee is survived by her husband of 21 years, Theodore Stumpfig; daughter Sara (Jeff Emerick) Palmateer; grandchildren Aleisha Gorsuch, Kadya (Jacob Edwards) Gorsuch, Consuela (Vern Most) Palmateer, Coy Gorsuch, and John Palmateer III; great grandchildren Ethan Gorsuch, Areiel Timm, and Rhiatt Timm; niece and nephew Sherry (Ed) Moiser and Roy Fike who were like children to her; nephew Michael (Melody) Ricketts; uncle Dwain (Bonnie) Grant; and aunt Joy Karklin
Lauralee was preceded in death by siblings Sandra Ricketts, Allen Fike, and Terry Fike.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Absolute Home Health & Hospice and to Tammy Lotfi for their care of Lauralee.
A funeral service for Lauralee will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, June 12th, 2023, at W.L. Case & Company Funeral Home, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Saginaw. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 10:00am until the time of service, with burial to follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Those wanting to make a show of their sympathy may wish to consider a memorial contribution to the family discretionary fund, c/o Theodore Stumpfig. Please share your thoughts, prayers, and memories with the family at the funeral home or through www.casefuneralhome.com.
