Laurel J. “Jean” McKnight
Saginaw, Michigan
Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend passed away Friday October 2, 2020 at St. Francis Home at the age of 88 years. Laurel was born December 5, 1931 in Saginaw. The daughter of the late William and Violet (Rivett) Westendorf. She was a member of St. Francis of deSalle Parish; she was a member of the league of catholic women. She enjoyed Bingo, playing cards and gardening.
She married Albert D. McKnight on July 28, 1951 Dave predeceased her October 23, 2005.
Surviving are her children; Mark McKnight, Daniel (Jan) McKnight, Bridget (Maarten) Busser, David (Wendy) McKnight, Molly McKnight; eight grandchildren; Andrew McKnight, Willie McKnight, Emily Young, Aaron Young, Robert Lucore, Sean McKnight, Mikayla Gath and Travis Gath; three great-grandchildren; Jonathan, Josh and Noah; several nieces and nephews; former son-in-law Rick Gath.
Besides her husband Laurel was predeceased by a daughter Mary Margaret McKnight and three sister and four brothers.
Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday October 6, 2020 at the St Francis de Sales Parish 3945 Williamson Rd. Saginaw, Michigan 48601. Rev. Fr. John Mancini, O.S.F.S. will officiate with burial in Oakgrove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may wish to visit with the family on Monday October 6, 2020 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the W.L. Case and Company Funeral chapel 5700 Dixie Highway .and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. Pursuant to the current state executive order, indoor building capacity is limited, face covers are required, and social distancing encouraged.
