On Tuesday, May 3, 2016, Lavon M. LeCureux, age 93, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord. Lavon Mae Mason was born, February 25, 1923 in Cherokee, Kansas to Wilmer and Pearl (Standley) Mason. As a young child, she came to a personal faith in the Lord Jesus as her Savior. Lavon graduated from Dansville High School, Michigan in 1941. She married Donald L. LeCureux in June 20, 1944, and remained stateside in California during his military service. Following the war, Don and Lavon settled back in Michigan. Lavon lived her life for the Lord, committed to her husband, family, and meeting with Christians at the Madison Street Gospel Hall. She had a wonderful compassion for helping and serving others. Lavon was predeceased by her husband in 2012. She is survived by a brother, Paul (Eunice) Mason, sons Ken (Jan Spicer) and Lloyd (Miriam Slabaugh) LeCureux, five grandchildren, Marc LeCureux, Bethanie (Jeremy) Coleman, Valerie (Timothy) Keifer, Jason LeCureux, and Jonathan (Heather Glowacki) LeCureux, a great-grandson, Eli Kenneth LeCureux, and several nieces and nephews. Lavon was predeceased by a son, Keith LeCureux, and two brothers, Harold (Ruth), and Kenneth (Viola) Mason. A special thank you to all of the wonderful, compassionate employees at Meadow View Manor. A private funeral and interment has taken place.
