Force, Lawrence Charleston, West Virginia, formerly of Saginaw, MI Passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at the age of 91 years. He was the eldest son of the late Lawrence and Myrtle (Goff) Force and was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 8, 1923. He was pre-deceased by his wives, Elaine L. Voorheis and Dorothy A. Yorton Packard, son Gary Force, and infant son Bruce Force. He graduated from Grand Blanc High School and retired from Michigan Bell as an engineer with nearly 44 years of service. He was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Army's Signal Corp. He was a member of the Countryside Trinity Church, its T.I.E.S., Pioneer Lodge #79 F. & A.M., the Bay City Scottish Rite, and the Martha Washington chapter #113 O.E.S. Surviving Lawrence are sons Dale (Molly) Force of Middleburg Heights, OH, Randall (Patricia) Force of Charleston, WV, daughter-in-law Mary Force of Gladwin, MI, five grandchildren, (Jennifer, Daniel, Robert, Pamela, Emily), step-daughter Jane (Barry) King of Saginaw, MI, step-son Robert (Kathy) Packard of Auburn, MI, two step-grandchildren (Chad, Joy), three step-great grandchildren, sister Barbara (Bill) Mason of Byron, MI, aunt Betty Phillips of Mt. Morris, MI, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was an avid reader with a keen interest in genealogy. A service, celebrating Lawrence's life, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2014 at W. L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Kenneth Parker will officiate with burial in Oakwood Cemetery with military honors under the auspices of VFW Post No. 1859, Carrollton. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday from 11am until the time of the service, with a Masonic memorial service beginning at 12:30 pm.
