Heredia, Lazaro Joseph Saginaw, MI Our beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Sunday, March 15, 2015 at his home with his family by his side, age 71 years. Lazaro was born in Saginaw, Michigan November 7, 1943 the son of the late Alfonso Joseph and Raphael (Vela) Heredia. He married Concepcion "Rosie" Orozco December 4, 1971 and she survives him. Lazaro worked for General Motors for 35 years, retiring in 1999. He served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Lazaro loved to go dancing with Rosie, bowl, camp, build model cars, attend car shows and loved spending time with his family. He was also a very good artist. In addition to his wife, Rosie, Lazaro is survived by three daughters, Naomi Heredia (Anthony Gonzalez) Susan (Fabian) Heredia-Moreno and Donna Heredia; three grandchildren, Vicente, Alyssa and Thalia; two sisters, Irene (Art) Gonzales and Vivian Barron; a special aunt, Josie Flores; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Lazaro was predeceased by a daughter, Maria Ann Heredia. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 20, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 915 N. 6th Street. Rev. Fr. Frank Voris, OFM Cap will officiate with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, where military services will take place under the care of the American GI Forum. Friends may visit with the family at W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Thursday from 2:00 8:00 p.m., where they may join the family for a parish vigil service at 7:00 p.m. and Friday at church from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service. www.casefuneralhome.com
