Leeta Joan Davey Burt, Michigan
Passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2017 in Saginaw, age 82 years. Leeta was born to the late Melvin and Lena Austin on October 14, 1934. She graduated in 1952 from Arthur Hill High School. She was married to Ronald Davey in 1953 and they had three wonderful children. She lost her husband in 1970 and worked hard to raise her children as a single parent. She worked for the United States Postal Service for 15 years until her retirement in 1989. In her younger years, she enjoyed playing BINGO, stamp collecting and going for long car rides. Later in life she spent her time playing computer games, doing Sudoku and other puzzles, scratch-off lottery tickets but most of all she enjoyed being with family. She was known for her sense of humor and for her big heart.
Leeta is survived by her siblings Andy Austin, Mike Austin, and Jane (Bud) Bender, her children Ronald (Cindy) Davey Jr., Steve (Julie) Davey and Sandra Dougherty, her Grandchildren Rebecca (Garrett) Harris, Heather (William) Miller, Cody Davey, Brandon Dougherty, Andrew Davey and Ashley Dougherty, and her Great Grandchild Parker Harris. Leeta was predeceased by her Parents Melvin and Lena Austin, her husband Ronald Davey Sr., her Sister Beth Powada and her special Son-In-Law Thomas Dougherty.
Funeral service will take place at 12:00 Noon on Friday, March 17, 2017, at W. L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Pastor Daniel Bonner will officiate with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
