    Passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Brian’s House. Age 96 years.

    The son of the late Mildred (Zimmerman) and William Haas was born February 18, 1927, in Saginaw, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He married Gloria Pringle in 1948. She passed away in 2001.  Leland was employed by Bushey Radiator as Auto Glass Manager for 41 years, retiring in 1989.  He enjoyed working on cars. He had made his home in Gladwin on Secord Lake before returning to Freeland. 

    Surviving are a sister and brother-in-law, Jane and William Brandimore; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, William Haas Jr., James W. Haas and Robert L. Haas.

    The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd.  Rev. Ted McCulloch will officiate with Military burial in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens under the auspices of American Legion  Post 439. Friends may visit with family at the Funeral Chapel from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the funeral service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Brian’s House, 664 W.
