Lenora M. Brubaker
Saginaw Township, Michigan

Our beautiful, beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-grandmother Lenora Mary Brubaker peacefully departed this life surrounded by her children on her 83rd birthday, October 5, 2021.

Lenora Courtney was born in Saginaw, Michigan on October 5, 1938, the daughter of Robert and Ruth (Tagget) Courtney. Lenora was raised in Spaulding Township and graduated from Holy Family High School in 1956. Lenora married Murray J. Brubaker on July 20, 1957 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Saginaw. Murray predeceased her after 63 years of marriage on December 31, 2020.

Lenora and Murray raised their family of four children in Freeland, Michigan. While Murray was working for Dow Chemical and running his own construction company Brubaker Builders, Lenora was a homemaker and took pride in her important role as wife and mother. Through their hard work and sacrifices, Lenora and Murray personally financed all four of their children's college educations.

Lenora enjoyed her family, her Catholic faith, shopping, music and dancing, traveling with her husband to the Caribbean and out west, and enjoying their home at Bear Lake, Michigan. Lenora was an avid reader reading one book per day. She enjoyed her visits to Zauel Memorial Library in Saginaw Township. Lenora was devoted to the rosary and recited it every day at 3 p.m. Lenora and Murray also enjoyed their outings and vacations with Murray's brother and sisterin-law (and Lenora's best friend) Ralph and Ruth Brubaker.

Surviving Lenora are one son and three daughters: Tom Brubaker (Marc Cesere) Saginaw; Mariann (Stuart) Siegel, Mentor, Ohio; Tammy Brubaker (Brent Alexander) Flushing, Michigan; and Michele (Patrick) McCormick, Cumming, Georgia. 7 grandchildren, Dr. Amber (Dr.Theo Plothe), Buck; Dr. Amanda (Brad) Livingston; Jillian (Joshua) Mercer; Alexander (Carli) Siegel; Marley Siegel, Sean McCormick, and Collin McCormick. ; 6 great-grandchildren, Caymen and Dorothy Mercer, William and Tristan Livingston, and Benjamin Haddix and Hank Murray Siegel.

One brother-in-law Ralph Brubaker of Midland; and sisters-in-law Roszella (Bernard) Foor, Gladwin; Angelau (Wendell) Hoover, Grayling; and Lotta Mack, Montrose, Michigan.

In addition to her husband Murray, Lenora was predeceased by her parents and three special cousins, Marcelyn (Tagget) Castro, John (Jack) Tagget, and Robert (Bob) Tagget.

Lenora's family would like to thank her doctor Lioudmila Kinachtchouk, M.D., and the dedicated medical staff of Ascension St. Mary's 6th floor ICU. They also express a sincere thank you to Mom's special friends who were of tremendous help: Chris Fortier, Nancy Zastrow, and Yolanda from A & D Home healthcare.
