Wellman, Leo Charles Saginaw, Michigan Loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend passed away on Thursday November 6, 2014 at the age of 81 years. The son of the late Louis and Leatha (Hollingsworth) Wellman was born on May 25, 1933 in Saginaw. He married Joan L. Schramke on November 28, 1953; she survives him. Leo served in the U.S. Army. He retired as an electrician from GM after 34 years of service. Leo was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, the Moose Club, and UAW Local #663. He enjoyed trips to the casino, camping, traveling, gardening and tinkering. Surviving besides his wife, Joan, are their children: Sue Ostrander, Anne (Scott) Gaeth, Sally (Craig) Tucker, Dennis (Kathy) Wellman, Amy Little, Jeff (Jill) Wellman, 14 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, his siblings: Paul (Pat) Wellman, John (Betty) Wellman, Doris (Tom) Gormley and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was predeceased by an infant son, Daniel Leo Wellman, a brother Harold Wellman and his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Clarence and Sophie Schramke. Funeral liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Road. Fr. Peter Gaspeny will officiate with military burial at St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. on Monday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. with a vigil service taking place at 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
