Leona Ann Harenchar Anspach, 92, of Saginaw, Ml, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2019 with family by her side.
She was born to parents Andrew and Mary (Andrykovich) Harenchar on April 25,1926 in Indiana County, Pennsylvania. Leona graduated from Flint Northern High School in 1944.
She worked for the Michigan Bell Telephone Company as an operator advancing to chief operator in Flint, Michigan. She performed administrative and book keeping duties for her husband's refrigeration service business in Saginaw for many years.
She was married to Jay Levi Anspach for 49 years. Jay preceded her in death in 2006. She was also predeceased by her brothers Bernard "Bunce" and John "Babe" Harenchar. Leona is survived by two brothers, Andrew (Mary) and James Harenchar, Clio, Ml. Leona was a loving mother to William Anspach, Alan Anspach (Merry), Sally Anspach Gebhart (John). She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Eric, Stephanie, Elaine (Caleb Ferrier), Shanna, Emelia, Alexander, Karissa and Griffin. Also survived by one great-grandchild, Harvey Ferrier.
Funeral Services will take place at 11:00 am Saturday January 26, 2019 at W.L. Case and Company, 5700 Dixie Highway. Rev. Bill Bodnar will officiate. Friends may visit with the family on Friday January 25, 2019 from 2:00- 4:00 pm and 6:00- 8:00 pm. Friends may also visit from 10:00 am until the time of service on Saturday. A private burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers please consider memorial contributions to the Alzheimers Association, Community Village or Old Town Christian Outreach Center.
