Leona Dollhoff of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother passed away peacefully on Friday, October 11, 2019, at Great Lakes Rehab Center. She was 98 years old. Leona Saumier was born on June 9, 1921, in International Falls, Minnesota to the late John and Salomee (Villeneuve) Saumier. She married Clarence "Red" Dollhoff on December 3, 1939, in Saginaw, Michigan; he preceded her in death on December 3, 2009. Leona was of the Catholic Faith and a former member of St. John the Baptist Church in Carrollton. She enjoyed reading, sewing and was an excellent baker, especially cakes. Following Reds retirement, he and Leona spent many summers at the flea market in Harrison. They also loved traveling and visited all 50 states.
Surviving are a daughter, Sally Dollhoff of Saginaw; Terry (Helen) Dollhoff of Ypsilanti; three grandchildren: Stephanie (Patrick Pillars) Mendel of Saginaw; Diana Dollhoff of Waxhaw, NC; Michael Dollhoff of Ypsilanti; four great-grandchildren: Julian Pillars, Cameron Pillars, Simon Pillars, Amir Dollhoff; two great-great-grandchildren: Olivia Pillars and Nathan Pillars.
She was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers.
