Leona L. Thornton

Our beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the age of 56 years. The daughter of the late Bernie and Loraine (St. Charles) Hall was born on May 24, 1960 in Saginaw. She married Stanley Thornton in 1978; he survives her. Leona enjoyed trips to the casino and flea markets and enjoyed spending time with her family and chihuahua, Tinkerbell. She also loved to feed and shelter stray cats. Surviving besides her husband, Stanley, are her daughter: Tracy (Matt) Leddy, her siblings: Walt (Bert) Hall, Chet Hall, Bob (Marsha) Hall, Sharon Near, Gloria Walton and numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Besides her parents, Leona was predeceased by a brother Bernie St. Charles. Committal service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens, 7475 Holland Rd. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family's wishes.
