Leonard Harry Krueger, Sr. of Hemlock, Michigan

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at MyMichigan Medical Center in Midland, Michigan. He was 74 years old. Leonard Harry Krueger was born on July 7, 1947, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Harry William and Rose Viola (Wenzel) Krueger. He was a proud 1966 graduate of Hemlock High School. Leonard married the love of his life, Bonnie Lou Watson, on July 6, 1968; she survives him. He worked at Copco Paper as Warehouse Lead for 26 years, as a truck driver for Magnum Construction hauling steel for over 10 years, and throughout his life was the owner and operator of his own family farm in Hemlock. Farming wasn’t just a job to Leonard, it was a way of life, a calling, something he enjoyed doing and sharing with his family. He was proud of developing Krueger Farms with his wife and children and later absolutely loved involving his grandchildren. Krueger Farms was truly a family farm. He was a gifted and talented wood worker creating and designing many projects over the years. Leonard could be found working in his shop with the family dogs. Above all, Leonard treasured and cherished being a husband, father, and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will forever be remembered for ability to lead and accomplish all projects no matter their difficulty, his good heart and selflessness in helping others, and for truly living a remarkable life filled with family and friends that he loved.

Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Bonnie Lou Krueger; two sons and a daughter, Leonard (Lou Ann) Krueger of Hemlock; Todd (Susan) Krueger of Hemlock; Pauline Tallon and Scott Hegenauer of Hemlock; eight grandchildren: Lyndsey (Mason) Babcock, August Krueger, Logan Krueger, Benjamin Walkowiak, Rachel Tallon and her fiancé, Matt Hamina, Darby Tallon, Gabe Tallon, and Gavin Tallon; one great-grandson, Ellis Babcock; one brother, Jim (Sally) Krueger of Hemlock; one sister, Rosanne Hatfield of Hemlock; two brothers-in-law and their spouses, Bill (Sue) Watson of Freeland; Bob (Debbie) Watson of Merrill. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Tom Hatfield, lifelong friend Joe Kaufmann and a special cousin Harold Anderson who could always make a bad day in the field a better day.
