Leonard W. Lockwood, Sr. of Flint, Michigan

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, March 9, 2020, at McLaren in Flint. He was 68 years old. Leonard William Lockwood was born on November 26, 1951, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Maynard L. and Ida Bell (Turner) Lockwood, Sr. He married Diana Louise Oakes on December 6, 1969 in Saginaw, Michigan; she preceded him in death on March 13, 2000. Leonard then married Glenda B. Welker on July 6, 2002, in Flint, Michigan; she survives him. He worked for and retired from General Motors after over 30 years of service. Leonard was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years. He also enjoyed going to the casino and would always cheer for his favorite team, the Detroit Tigers. Leonard will forever be remembered for his joking demeanor and wonderful sense of humor.

Surviving are his wife of 17 years, Glenda B. Lockwood of Flint; son, Leonard (Michele) Lockwood, Jr. of Ney, OH; Tina Lockwood and her fiancé Chris Miller of Sherwood, OH; step-daughter, Casey (Mitch) Broom of Clio; step-son, Scott (Danielle) Hudson of Flint. Also surviving are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Zebadiah Miller.

A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 13, 2020, at W. L. Case and Company 5700 Dixie Highway. Rev. Julie Bailey will officiate with burial to follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
