Frances is also survived by her nieces, Patti Rainwater (Malcomb) and Isabella Smith (Van).Survived also by sister-in-law Pauline Winterstein (Roger) along with dear friends Dan and Sharon Hanson and many nieces/nephews. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild.
Frances was an avid reader who often shared books back and forth with her grandchildren in KY. They all enjoyed wonderful conversation about all the books they would read. She also shared her love of knitting, sewing, and crafting with her great grandchildren in Michigan. She was a wonderful cook and baker, never afraid to tackle a new recipe. The collection of family photos in her living room were abundant. Those albums were a favorite with anyone who would visit and she was always eager to share a good story or a piece of family history. She was a resilient woman who lived through the Great Depression, World War ll (both her husbands served) and she persevered through the many trials life gave her.
Fran loved a good game of cribbage, she enjoyed going to her library club, water aerobics, and years ago bowled in a league. In younger years Fran sang in the church choir; she had a beautiful voice. She also traveled all around the country with Paul (her 2nd husband) and their faithful dog, Dolly, in their camper.
Fran was an extremely intelligent woman and kept current with the times. She spent time every day communicating with friends and family on Facebook, throughly enjoying all the photos and updates that her family posted. She also never shied away from a challenge from Words with Friends, often leaving those who played her amazed with her immense vocabulary.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Fran's daughter and son-in-law, Jessie and Bob Best. For the past two decades they have been the rock that allowed Fran to keep her independence and health for so many years. There wasn't a time that you spoke with Fran that she didn't' take time to share her gratitude for their love and commitment.
Fran was a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to know and love her. Her compassion for all those around her was unending; whether people just called to say hi or if they were in need of advice, she was always willing to listen without passing judgement. She will be greatly missed. www.casefuneralhome.com
