Linda Jean Johnson Merrill, Michigan Passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit. Age 67 years. The daughter of Donna (Colpean) and the late Lyle Honaman was born March 15, 1951 in Saginaw, Michigan. She graduated from Merrill High School, Class of 1969. She was married to John Lowell Johnson, June 28, 1969. Her husband of 48 years survives her. Linda had been employed by the State of Michigan until the birth of her children. Her faith in Christ was very important to her. She was an active member of Merrill Wesleyan Church. She loved working with children in the nursery and teaching Sunday school. Together with her husband, she helped coordinate the Merrill Wesleyan Heavenly Thunder Car Show and making the goody bags for the children in attendance. Linda was a member of the Community Friends and worked on local elections with the Election Board. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, knitting, crocheting, making costumes for plays, gardening, shopping and giving gifts. She liked word puzzles, Sudoku, attending plays and camping. Most of all she enjoyed her grandchildren and family. Surviving besides her husband, John, and her mother, Donna, are two sons, Brent Johnson and his wife, Brandi; Brandon Johnson; two grandchildren, Chloe and Noah; a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Sue Honaman; a brother-in-law and his wife, Joel and Dawn Johnson; several nieces and nephews. Her mother-in-law and father-in-law, J.R. and Vita (Billie) Johnson and a sister-in-law and her husband, Gayle and Bill Tack, have predeceased her. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Merrill Wesleyan Church, 3765 N. Chapin Rd. Merrill. Rev. Bradley Harris will officiate with burial in Lakefield Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel in Merrill from 1:00-3:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday and then at the Church from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the funeral service.
