Linda June Le Roy Saginaw Township, Michigan
Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away after a lengthy and valiant battle with cancer, on Sunday, April 14, 2019, at her home with her family at her side. Age 72 years. Linda June Smith was born on October 25, 1946, in Piggott, Arkansas to the late Logan Ray and Mary Elizabeth (Smith) Herring. She was a graduate of Plymouth High School and a proud alumnus of Whitmore Lake High School; she continued her education at Schoolcraft Community College, John Robert Powers Modeling School and Virginia Farrell Beauty School. Linda married the love of her life, Leo R. Le Roy, they celebrated 48 years together; he survives her. They would often spend trips up North in a cabin, where she caught the biggest walleye her husband had ever seen at 31 inches and 10 plus pounds. She was a past member of Saginaw Valley Water Color Association, as she enjoyed painting and working with water colors, as well as oils and pastels for her art. She also would go bowling at Stardust, where she received the title of Saginaw Bowler of the week along with a plaque to show for it. Above all, she loved the time spent with her grandchildren who were the light of her life.
Surviving besides her husband, Leo, their son, Lee (Katherine) Le Roy of Saginaw; two grandchildren, Conner James and Paris Nicole Le Roy; two siblings, Retha (Bruce) Hansen and Michael Herring. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Linda is preceded in death by an infant daughter Rhonda Valentine.
Following Lindas wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, 2019, at Stardust Bowling Alley in the VIP Room, 3750 Bay Road. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider St. Judes Childrens Hospital.
