Linda Klein Pollard

Loving mother and grandmother passed away at her home in Saginaw, Michigan, on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at the age of 72. Linda was born on June 14th, 1950, in Saginaw to the late John & Helen (Naylor) Klein and was a 1968 graduate of Arthur Hill High School. It was during high school, while participating in the Junior Achievement Program, that Linda met Bruce Pollard. She invited him to a New Years Eve party and the rest is history. The couple would marry in 1972 and spend over 50 years together in “one hell of a good marriage.” After high school, Linda continued her education at Delta College, completing an associate degree in nursing. She spent 43 years as a Registered Nurse, first working at St. Joseph’s Mercy and then U of M in the Neonatal Research Unit, before making her way to Covenant in Saginaw, then known as Saginaw General, from where she retired after spending many dedicated years working primarily in critical care nursing. Linda stayed active in her free time, proudly serving as a member of the American Hosta Society, Michigan Hosta Society, Saginaw Valley Hosta Society, Eastern Michigan Hosta Society, Hardy Plant Society of Michigan, Great Lakes Chapter of the North American Rock Garden Society, American Rock Garden Society, and the Saginaw Branch of the Women’s Farm & Garden Society. It would be an understatement to say she loved gardening! She traveled all over the world with her family, loving to visit countless botanical gardens and National Parks. Spending time with family was the most important thing to Linda. She was always quick to help her family and friends and lived life with joy, loving to sing, dance, and enjoy the little things.

Linda is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Bruce Pollard; daughters and sons-in-law Jennifer Pollard and Jake Albers, and Sarah (Pollard) Garcia and Joaquin Garcia; grandchildren Alex Garcia and Jacob Garcia; and siblings Larry (Cindy) Klein, Shelia (Tim) Alberts, and Rick (Cindy) Klein; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and countless friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents John & Helen Klein.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the University of Michigan and to ALS of Michigan.

In accordance with Linda’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a Celebration of Life from 1-4pm on Sunday, April 30th, 2023, at the Anderson Enrichment Center, 120 Ezra Rust Dr, Saginaw, MI 48601. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to ALS of Michigan and the Saginaw Branch of the Women’s Farm & Garden Society.
