Lisa Gehringer of Bridgeport, Michigan
Beloved sister, aunt, sister-in-law, grandma, and friend passed away peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at the University of Michigan Hospital. She was 52 years old. Lisa Gehringer was born on September 1, 1968, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late James and Lorraine (Russell) Gehringer. She was a proud 1986 graduate of Bridgeport High School. Throughout life, Lisa always remained kind, caring and selfless. She had a heart of gold, a willingness to listen, and a soul that found peace and unity in helping other people. Lisa was a passionate and driven volunteer, effectively managing former NAPH and Pulmonary Support Groups. She enjoyed working on puzzles and playing Bingo and cards. Above all, Lisa treasured and cherished the time she spent with her family, friends, and grandchildren. She will fondly and forever be remembered as "Aunt Lisa" by all children.
Surviving are her siblings: David and Kathiee Gehringer; nieces: Arica and Alexis; boyfriend, James Laundress; grandchildren: Emma, Michael, Kaylee, and Mary; best friend, Lisa Cummings.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the medical staff at the University of Michigan, as well as many other doctors and caretakers throughout her life, for all the loving and extraordinary care Lisa received.
A Memorial Service celebrating Lisa's life will be held on June 19, 2021, with a time and location to be determined. Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials in her name to the family c/o Arica, the Pulmonary Hypertension Association, or the University of Michigan.
