Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother passed away on Friday, February 28, 2020 at the age of 85 years.
Lois Hutfilz was born to the late William and Elsie (Wenzel) Hutfilz on June 16, 1934 in Saginaw. She graduated from Merrill High School as valedictorian, in the class of 1952. Lois married William J. Rohde on May 23, 1953; he survives her. She retired from the Blue Care Network after many years of service. Lois was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, sang in the church choir and was on the church board of education. She also enjoyed bowling and golfing but most especially cherished time spent with her family.
Surviving besides her husband of 66 years, William, are their children: Bradley (Jacqueline) Rohde, Gregory (Kristie) Rohde, Catherine Smith, Dale (Kimberly) Rohde, grandchildren: David (Dawn) Siler, Thomas (Jennifer) Siler, Nathan (Lindsay) Rohde, Todd Rohde, Jeremy (Ashleigh) Rohde, Aaron (Allison) Rohde, Scott (Shienna) Smith, Bryan (Amber) Smith, Katie (Adam) Cole, Adam Rohde, Brittany (Jarred) Cline, 18 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters-in-laws: Shirley Hutfilz and Louise Rohde and many relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her grandson Brett Siler and her brothers: William (Maxine) Hutfilz, Marvin Hutfilz.
Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at Zion Lutheran Church, 17927 Dice Rd. Hemlock. Rev. Paul A. Hauser will officiate with burial at Richland Township Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel in Merrill on Monday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Zion Lutheran Church or the wishes of the family.
