Lorraine Mildred Curtis of Bridgeport, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Tuesday, September 1, 2020. She was 87 years old. Lorraine Mildred was born on January 8, 1933, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Byron John and Margaret C. (Zorn) French. She was a proud graduate of Saginaw High School. Lorraine worked as a proofreader and printer for Dornbos Printing in Saginaw, retiring after over 50 years of dedicated service. She married Arthur Charles Lutz on December 13, 1952; he preceded her in death on September 24, 1977. Lorraine later married Russell Curtis on June 18, 1988; he preceded her in death on April 25, 2008. She enjoyed working on puzzles, knitting doily’s, but her favorite pastime was to go camping. Above all, Lorraine loved and cherished her family. She will forever be remembered for her kindness and generosity, her selflessness to all in need, and for all the love and care she provided to anyone that mattered in her life.

Surviving are a son, David Arthur Lutz and his wife, Terri; grandson, Jason ( Felicia) Scott; five step-children: Gary Curtis and his wife, Darla; Loretta Durkee and her husband, Charles; Nancy Curtis, June Duncan and her husband, David; many nieces and nephews; a very special nephew, Scott Matthew Lutz; very dear friend of four years, Adolf Hofmann; special friends: Jean and Todd Holzhei.

She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters: Donald, Barb, and JoAnn.

A funeral service will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2020, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Highway. Pastor Daniel Garbow will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral chapel on Thursday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Pursuant to the current state executive order, indoor building capacity is limited, face coverings are required, and social distancing encouraged. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Diabetes Association or the Buena Vista Community Center.
