Payne, Louella J. (Zieroff, Dauer) Saginaw, Michigan Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt passed away early Sunday, February 14, 2016, at her home. Age 89 years. Louella J. Zieroff was born January 11, 1927, in Saginaw, the daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Bacon) Zieroff. She married Roy Charles Payne on January 11, 1947; he predeceased her on October 7, 1983. She had been employed by Bintz Apple Mountain and also PeeWee's Lounge. She had been a member of State Street United Methodist Church, was a dedicated member of the Gold Star Mothers and had served as President of the Saginaw Chapter #4. She enjoyed doing crossword and word puzzles and also crocheting. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lou and Robert Lewis, Saginaw; two grandsons, Jason C. Lewis, Saginaw, and J.D. and Renee Lewis and their daughter, Ella, whom she adored, all of Traverse City; one sister, Virginia Plotkin, Phoenix, Arizona; several nieces, nephews and their families; and her dear, childhood friend, Fran Varney. Her son, SP4 Roy C. Payne Jr. was killed in action in Vietnam in 1967. She was also predeceased by three brothers and three sisters. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw, where her family will receive friends from 3:00 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday and then on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Rev. Monique Turner will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
