Lovell Robert Kain Freeland, Michigan Beloved father, grandfather, and brother passed away Monday, April 25, 2016, at Bickford Senior Living, Saginaw, MI. Age 82 years. Lovell was the son of the late George and Hilda (Kupke) Kain was born July 7, 1933 in Zilwaukee, Michigan. He married Joyce Collis, May 24, 1958, she preceded him in death, August 17, 1998. Lovell is survived by his daughter, Jill Butler (Bill Porter) of Saginaw, MI; his son, Robert Kain (Susan), Freeland, MI; his grandchildren, Andrea and Nathan Butler, Marisa and Kayla Kain; his brother, Donald Kain(Virginia) Saginaw, MI; Sister, Lucille Turner, Gaylord, MI; sister-in-law, Karen Kain, Freeland, MI; sister-in-law, Shirley Sherman(Ray), Sanford, MI; brother-in-law, Eugene Collis, (Jane), Midland, MI; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, John, Freeland, MI, Raymond, Saginaw, MI and Walter, Houston, TX. Lovell graduated from Arthur Hill, Class of 1951. He served our country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1953-1955. He was employed by the Michigan State Highway Commission and worked briefly for C & O railroad. Along with his brother, John, Lovell farmed many acres of land in the Saginaw and Freeland area before starting his own electrical contracting business in 1973. He wired many homes, business and commercial buildings in the Great Lakes Bay Region and the Detroit area. Lovell was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Midland, MI. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2016 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 5250 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Jacob Behnken will officiate with Military entombment in Chapel Hill Mausoleum under the auspices of V.F. W. Post #1859. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. where the family will be present from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday and then at the Church from 10:00 a.m. Monday until the time of the funeral service.
