Kwaiser, Lucille Amelia Saginaw Township, MI Our loving Mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away at the home of her daughter Pamela Higgs-Barrera under the loving care from family and hospice on Monday, June 16, 2014. She was born on October 6, 1932 in Saginaw, Michigan, the daughter of the late Edward and Eleanor (Kuschinsky) Wenzel. Lucille married Jerome G. Kwaiser on April 15, 1950; he predeceased her on August 16, 2005. After raising her six children she worked briefly at Albert's in the Fashion Square Mall before babysitting her grandchildren. She most enjoyed spending time with her family as well as baking, putting together puzzles, doing word searches, playing cards, reading, camping and watching the Detroit Tigers play. Lucille is survived by her children and their spouses: Pamela (Paul Barrera) Higgs-Barrera, Saginaw Township; Susan Fowler, Marysville, MI; Karen (Ted) Mott, Plant City, FL; Denise (Jim) Hausbeck, Saginaw Twp; Gary (Shelly) Kwaiser, Kochville Twp; Lisa (Don) Knapp, Saginaw, MI; grandchildren: Kevin Higgs of Buchanan, MI; Gregory and Jason Fowler, Amy Sullivan all of Marysville, MI; Amanda Hallman, Anna (Wade) Mahoney, Andrea Mott all of Plant City, FL; Brandon Hausbeck, Garrett and Mat Kwaiser, Amber Knapp all of Saginaw Twp; two great-grandchildren: Trenton Higgs of Buchanan, MI and Astin Hallman of Plant City, FL; a sister Ruth (Martin) Reichard, and sisters-in-law: Doris Martuch, Carmie and Margaret Kwaiser and a close friend and former neighbor Cindy Owen. Besides her husband, Lucille was predeceased by one brother, Eddie Wenzel Jr. and a grandson Justin Kwaiser. Lucille will always be remembered for her keen sense of humor and positive attitude right up to her final days. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Reverence Hospice of St. Mary's of Michigan for all the care and support. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014 at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1310 Malzahn, Saginaw. Fr. Steve Gavit will officiate with burial at St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. where a vigil will take place at 4:00 p.m. Friends may also call at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral liturgy.
