Yahn, Lucille May Hemlock, Michigan Beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at St. Mary's of Michigan at the age of 89 years. The daughter of the late Ernest and Ilda (Floud) Voorheis was born on July 28, 1925 in Hemlock. She was a life-long resident of the Hemlock-Fremont Township area. She graduated from Hemlock High School, and Central Michigan University with a degree in teaching. Lucille then taught Home Economics at Hemlock High School. She married Wilfred Nelson Yahn on June 25, 1949; he predeceased her on January 6, 1975. Lucille and Wilfred worked on the now centennial family farms together. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church and was active in the ladies' aide and quilting group. Lucille enjoyed sewing, quilting, genealogy and most especially spending time with her children and grandchildren, including her grandchildren's sporting events. Surviving are her children: Carla (Timothy) Laboda, Daniel (Vickie) Yahn, Willajean (Gerald) Smith, 5 grandchildren: Whitney Yahn, Tyler Yahn, Benjamin Smith, Wyatt Smith, Logan Smith, her sister Beulah Voorheis and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings: Herman and Ernest Voorheis and Ilah Mesler. Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 2461 N. Raucholz Rd. Rev. Richard E. Mundt will officiate with burial at Fremont Township Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Friday at the W. L. Case and Company, 201 N. Miller Rd. from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and on Saturday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
