Luis Hernandez Sr.

Hernandez, Luis Sr. Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Sunday, September 20, 2015, at his home, at the age of 66 years. Luis was born February 6, 1949, the son of the late Luis Hernandez and Florentina (Chacon) Gomez. He married Juanita Perez on December 12, 1970; she survives him. He retired from General Motors in 1999, following 30 years of service. He had served in the US Army and received the Purple Heart. Surviving besides his wife, Juanita, are three daughters and one son, Lisa (Guadalupe) Villegas Jr., Judy Hernandez, Alexandra (Brandon Reed) Hernandez, and Luis (Michelle Escobedo) Hernandez Jr.; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; seven brothers and sisters, Maria Perez, Anita (Roy) Sotelo, Jacob Hernandez, Simona (Eladio) Rios, Ventura Olivarez, Florentina Olivarez, and Sam Lopez; a special aunt, Ramona Chacon; a special friend and brother-in-law, Lazaro Perez Sr.; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families. He was predeceased by a sister, Gloria Gonzalez. His family will receive friends at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, from 3:00 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2015.
