Lyle J. Massman Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Saturday, January 30, 2015, at the Cartwright Care Residence. Age 93 years. The son of the late John and Mabel (Kramer) Massman was born April 4, 1922 in Saginaw County, Michigan. He married Elsa Bringe, May 24, 1946, at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church. She passed away December 15, 2011 after 65 years of marriage. Lyle served as an aviator with the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was employed by Michigan Bell Telephone (AT &T) retiring with 45 years. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, where he served the church in many capacities. Together with his wife, they conducted and organized religious classes. Lyle collected marbles and antiques. He was an avid golfer, a member of Rolling Green Golf Club, a Life member of Germania Golf and County Club and volunteered at the Buick Open and G.T.E. Sun Coast Golf Classic for several years. He also enjoyed bowling, horse shoes, playing cards, but most of all, enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family. Surviving are two daughters and their husbands, Sandra K. and Robert Grueber, Waynesville, Ohio; Patricia A. and Thomas W. Krueger, Odessa, Florida; seven grandchildren, Jeff, Bob, Tim, Spence and Todd Krueger; Chris and Dan Grueber; 15 great grandchildren; a brother, Duane Massman; several nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. The funeral service will take place at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Susan Hand will officiate.
