Lyle Merton Ostrander

Lyle M "Pinky" Ostrander was born in Saginaw, MI on July 29, 1931, to Frederick and Mabel (Detweiler) Ostrander. 

Lyle was a life-long resident of Saginaw, and graduated from Saginaw High School in 1949. He worked for Morley Brothers when they were located on N. Washington Street, and later went to work for Westinghouse Electrical Supply Company, retiring in 2000. He worked an additional few years for Royal Light before retiring for good in 2003. 

In 1997 Lyle married Valentina who cared for him generously. Additional surviving family members are his daughters, Karen Holder, Kristan (Steven) Appel, son Jim (Merci) Ostrander, step son Alex Dyadura; and grandchildren, Amber (Clark) Doherty, Camille Ostrander, Ethan Ostrander, Willow and Shaylee Ostrander, and Krystyna Dyadura. 

Beloved nieces and nephews, (Sue, Jim, Rusty, Lynn, Valerie, Lisa, Joby and sister-in-law Joy) and their families also survive, along with his lifelong best friend, John (Leore) Bethune, and Sharon Peterson. and her son, Matthew Glave. 

Lyle was predeceased by his parents; wife, Bonnie (Goodwin), siblings, Frederick Jr, Alan, Isabel (Junior) Paxton, Camille (James) Myers, and Jane (Howard) Sawatzki. 

Lyle enjoyed playing baseball and bowling. He was on a Blooper Ball league in Bridgeport, and could frequently be found on a golf course. He was an avid puzzle builder, trivia and crossword enthusiast. He enjoyed the company of his mall walker companions for many years. His love of Michigan sports was endless, and despite his complaining, he never really gave up on the Lions. 

At his request cremation will take place, and a Celebration of Life gathering will be held in the spring. Arrangements have been entrusted to the W. L.
