M. Marlene Wade

Wade, M. Marlene Hemlock, MI Passed away Monday, October 6, 2014 at her home, age 75 years. Marlene was born in Gaylord, Michigan October 16, 1938 the daughter of the late O. Berniece (Everman) and Marvin Virgil Shepherd. She was a 1958 graduate of Hemlock High School. She married William Wade December 6, 1958 and he survives her. Marlene worked for Consumers Energy from where she retired in 1996 after 27 years of service. Through the years she enjoyed bowling, golfing and polka dancing, as well as a birthday with her husband Bill of 55 years. In addition to her husband, Bill, Marlene is survived by four children, Robin Wade, Norman (Kathleen) Wade, Rebecca Pahl and William Wade. She loved her 10 grandchildren, Brenna, Joshua, Justin, Megan, Anna, Benjamin, Zachary, Alexandria, Haythan and Noah as well as her four great-grandchildren, Patrick, Sadie, Jackson and Bennett. She is also survived by her three sisters, Estella Hudeck, Faye Cruse, Gail (Dave) Kwapis and her brother, Ron Shepherd, along with numerous brothers/sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Marlene was predeceased by her step-father, Eugene Young; her brother, Jack Shepherd; her sister, Jane Raymond; her grandson, Christopher William Wade and her great-granddaughter, Madelyn Rose Lockwood. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2014 at Nelson United Methodist Church, 5950 Hemlock Rd. Rev. Michael Vollmer will officiate. Friends may visit with the family at the church Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
