Marcia Rae Stephens of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at her home with her family by her side. She was 74 years old. Marcia Rae Langer was born on June 10, 1945, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Stuart Conrad and Delores Clara (Bluhm) Langer. She was a proud 1963 graduate of Arthur Hill High School. Following graduation, Marcia attended Delta College. She met the love of her life, James Allen Stephens while he was serving in the United States Air Force. Their souls were united in marriage on January 20, 1968, in Saginaw; he survives her. Marcia was a longtime sales clerk at the Gratiot Road Meijer; retiring after many years of dedicated service. When she was a young woman she enjoyed water skiing and ice skating. Marcias favorite pastime was being in her robe and drinking black coffee. She was friendly, social and also enjoyed speaking to family and friend on the telephone. Above all she loved and cherished her husband, children and grandchildren. Marcia will forever be remembered for her indomitable spirit, her love of humor and laughter, and ability to live life moment by moment with happiness.
Surviving are her husband of 51 years, James Allen Stephens of Saginaw; a daughter and two sons: Michele (Brian) Hasse of Freeland; Sean (Nicole) Stephens of Florida; Jason (Kimberly) Stephens of Chesaning; seven grandchildren: Nolan Stephens, Trevor Stephens, Morgan Hasse, Brayden Hasse, Lilymae Stephens, Jase Stephens, Christopher Jurstik; brother, James (Nancy) Langer of Houghton Lake; sister, Jackie Liddle of Saginaw. Also surviving are many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Cynthia Langer; parents: Stuart C. and Delores C. Langer.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Covenant VNA Hospice for all of the love and care they provided to Marcia and the family.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 18, 2019, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road. Rev. Tom Wirtz will officiate. Friends are welcome to visit with the family on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Honoring Maricas wishes cremation will follow. Entombment will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2019, at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.
