Wegner, Margaret Alberta Saginaw, Michigan Passed away on Saturday, October 03, 2015 at St. Mary's of Michigan at the age of 96 years. The daughter of the late Albert and Margaret (Hanafin) Rabie was born on October 16, 1918 in Saginaw. Margaret graduated from St. Andrew High School as her class Valedictorian and received a musical degree in 1935 from the Sisters of Mercy at St. Andrew's school. She married Frederick Wegner on October 14, 1939; he predeceased her on March 20, 1969. Margaret worked for the Saginaw News. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Margaret was also a member of the Quarter Century Club of the Saginaw News, and the League of Catholic Women. Margaret proudly lived on her own at South Colony Apartments until her recent illness. Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Patrick J. and Helen Wegner of Paris, TX, daughter-in-law, Janice Wegner, of Saginaw, MI, son-in-law Gary Mathieu of Sutton, MA; her grandchildren: Frederick Wegner, Monica Wegner, Michelle Wegner, Mark Wegner, Heather Massey, Lara Forde, Vincent Forde and John Forde; several great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sons Michael Wegner, Timothy Wegner, daughter Mary Margaret Forde-Mathieu, and a step-mother, Gertrude Dahmer Rabie and a step-brother, Robert Rabie. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St. Saginaw. Rev. William Taylor will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday where a vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friends may then call at the Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral liturgy.
