Margaret Jean Micsak

Margaret Jean Micsak, daughter of the late Howard Baker and Leona (Welch) Elsten, was born March 15, 1926, in Saginaw, Michigan. She professed her faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized when she was 27 and was a faithful member of the Center Road Church of Christ. Her Christian life was as beautiful as the flowers that she loved so well, and her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who know her.
Margaret married Robert Warren Suhr June 15, 1946, in Angola, Indiana. This union was blessed with three children, JoAnn, Rick, and Jeri. Robert preceded her in death on January 30, 1981. They shared 34 years together. Margaret then married Edward Micsak June 15, 1985, and this union brought a loving bond until Ed’s death September 21, 2013, and they shared 28 years together.

Margaret’s life was rich in family and her work in retail for many years with W.T. Grant and continued with Kmart until her retirement. Being the eldest child in her family—she was not able to complete her education. After her retirement she attended high school and received her diploma, which was very important to her. She enjoyed playing Bingo and Euchre with friends.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children Rick (Mary) Shur of Bowling Green, KY, Jeri (Don) Garrett of Saginaw, MI, and JoAnn’s children; sister, Dorothy Webster of Cadillac, MI; 12 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; a host of devoted nieces, nephews, and friends.
Margaret quietly departed this life February 28, 2022, at Community Village, Saginaw, MI. She was preceded in death by her daughter, JoAnn Dietrich, and grandson, William Dietrich; her siblings Leona “Toots” Chambers, John Baker, and Joseph Baker.
