Margaret DeCaire Thompson Lichon
Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt passed on to enjoy eternal life with God. She passed away September 24, 2020 at 99 years old. Margaret Agnes DeCaire Thompson Lichon was born June 4, 1921 in Saginaw, Michigan, the daughter of the late Chester and Ann DeCaire. She married Kenneth Thompson, he predeceased her. She married Edward J. Lichon on January 6, 1968, he predeceased her in September of 2018.
She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. When she was active, she enjoyed golfing, bowling, dancing and traveling to Lakeland, Florida to watch the Tigers during spring training.
She is survived by her childen, David C. and Kathryn Thompson, stepchildren: Kenneth Lichon, Keith (Georgia) Lichon and Janet (Jim Miller) Compeau; 19 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren and 10 great- great grandchildren.
Margaret was predeceased by her daughter Barbara A. Thompson Denome; her stepsons Ronald Lichon and David Lichon; her brothers Donald and Chester DeCaire and her sisters Naomi Lacross and Louise Duby.
A funeral liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (1035 N. River Road, Saginaw). Rev. Fr. Peter J. Gaspeny and Pastoral Minister Kathy Myles will officiate. Rite of committal will follow at St. Elizabeth Catholic Cemetery in Reese. Friends may visit the family from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at church. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Holy Spirit Catholic Church or The Care Team Hospice. Pursuant to the current state executive order, face covers will be required and social distancing will be encouraged.
