Margaret Mary Gensch

Margaret Mary Gensch Merrill, Michigan A beautiful lady and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013, at the Cartwright Care Center. Age 88 years. The daughter of the late Anna (Lednicky) and George Mikusko was born May 22, 1924 in Wheeler Township, Gratiot County. She married Chester J. Gensch Sr, March 25, 1944. Her husband of 69 years survives her. She had been employed by the Merrill Schools and engaged in farming with her husband. She was an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Ryan and a member of its Altar Society. Margaret was an excellent cook and baker. She enjoyed canning, sewing, ice fishing, snowmobiling and walking, but most of all, her family particularly her grandchildren. Surviving besides her husband, Chester, are one son, four daughters and their spouses, Chester Gensch Jr. and his wife, Ann; Beverly and Phil Neitzke; Susan and Jack Ryan; Patricia and Joe Tolfree, all of Merrill, MI; Janet and Bob Clark, Breckenridge, MI; ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; a brother and a sister and their spouses, Joseph and Jackie Mikusko; Ann and Lou Vedrode; her sisters-in-law, Carol and Shirley Mikusko, Almeda Baranowski and Dorothy Ann Demers; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Nancy, in 1957 and three brothers, Robert (Bob), George and Ed Mikusko and a sister Helen Foote. Cremation has taken place. A memorial funeral liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 4708 Meridian Rd. Merrill, MI. Rev. Bernard L. Skornia will officiate. Friends may call at the Church from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of the funeral liturgy.
