Maria Ernestina "Ern" Rodriguez

Beloved sister, aunt and friend, passed away suddenly at her home on Sunday, December 30, 2018, at the age of 59 years. She was born September 3, 1959, in Saginaw, the daughter of the late Antonio C. and Carmen (Valdez) Rodriguez. She graduated from Arthur Hill High School with the Class of 1977. Ern had worked in the family businesses, Rodriguez Restaurant and Rodriguez Party Store, for many years, and currently owned Hondos Bar. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She loved to cook and will be remembered for her tamales and menudo. Surviving are her sister and brother-in-law, Maria Cristina and Todd Stacy, Davison; her beloved nieces and nephews, Antonio Rodriguez, whom she raised, Tony "Vivo" Rodriguez, Daniel "D" Rodriguez, Andrea Stacy, Danielle Rodriguez, Eric (Shana) Stacy, Ellecia Choyce, and Monte Davis; many grandnieces and grandnephews; aunts and uncles. She was predeceased by her parents, Antonio and Carmen Rodriguez, and by one sister and two brothers, Estella, Daniel and Alejandro "Hondo" Rodriguez. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 615 S. 6th Avenue. Rev. Fr. Frank Voris, OFM, Cap., will officiate with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Her family will receive friends at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, from 2:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Monday, where a vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday. Family and friends may then gather at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
