Beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at Covenant HealthCare – Cooper, with her family at her side; at the age of 84 years.

The daughter of the late John F. and Sara E. (Johnson) McInnis, Marilyn was born on July 4, 1936 in Lansing, Michigan. She graduated from St. Charles High School with the Class of 1954. Marilyn married Lawrence “Larry” Blazo on November 22, 1958 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Hemlock, Michigan; he preceded her in death on December 9, 1991. She was a secretary for several years at Saginaw County Court House; followed by other rewarding jobs. Then Marilyn found her passion as a library assistant at Chesaning Library and Thomas Twp Library. Marilyn’s personality was witty, wise and strong. She enjoyed reading, and creating anything as she was a gifted artist and crafter. Above all, Marilyn cherished the time spent with her loving family and her extra special cat: Louie.

Surviving are two daughters, one son and their spouses: Sharon Blazo and Roger Ousnamer; Marie and James Pilkington; David Blazo; four grandchildren: Eric Pilkington; Jack Pilkington; Ian Pilkington, Jenna Blazo; one sister: Frances (Lynn) Siler; one sister-in-law: Barbara McInnis; and cousin: Gerald McCormick. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. Besides her husband and her parents; Marilyn is preceded in death by two brothers: Daniel McInnis and John Thomas McInnis.

Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road, Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Steven Gavit will officiate with burial to follow at St. Mary Cemetery, St. Charles. Friends may visit the family from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2020 at the funeral chapel. Pursuant to the current state executive order, indoor building capacity is limited, face covers are required, and social distancing is encouraged. We appreciate everyone’s efforts to reduce the spread of covid-19 in our community. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Amazing Grace Animal Rescue, St. Jude’s Children Hospital or Hidden Harvest Food Pantry.
