Marilyn J. Karpicke

Marilyn (Schebler) Karpicke Saginaw, Michigan Passed away quietly on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Covenant Select Care. Age 91 years. The daughter of the late George C. and Florence (Barth) Schebler was born October 17, 1924 in Saginaw, Michigan. Upon graduating from Arthur Hill High School, Class of 1942. She joined the "War effort" by beginning a 23 year career with General Motors, Grey Iron Foundry. She was active in the G.M. Girls Club. She married Arthur H. Karpicke, October 19, 1963 and they enjoyed 23 wonderful years together until he passed away on January 19, 1989. Marilyn enjoyed traveling to many foreign countries and making "new" friendships. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and active in the Altar Guild and Women's Farm and Garden Association. She was very involved in its Horticultural Therapy Committee, volunteering at Millet Life Long Learning Center, community village and for nearly 30 years at the Juvenile Detention Center. She belonged to the Master Gardeners and the Germania Club. Marilyn was predeceased by her husband, her parents and her dear brother, George H. (Bud) Schebler and his wife, Evelyn. She leaves to cherish her memory her Nephew, G. Timothy Schebler and his wife, Linda, their son, Ryan; her niece, Sue Ann Haefele and her husband, Dale, their daughter, Ashley; her nephews, Paul Becker and his wife, Lee Ann; Tim Becker and his wife, Debra; many dear friends and acquaintances. The funeral service will take place at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2016, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 600 Court St. Saginaw, MI. Rev. James F. Krueger will officiate. Friends may call at the Church from Noon until the time of the funeral service.
