Marilyn L. Balden

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 with her family at her side; at the age of 92 years.
The daughter of the late Clare L. and Vera M. (James) Wright, Marilyn was born on December 20, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan. She graduated from Clawson High School. Marilyn married Kenneth J. Balden Sr. on July 18, 1957 in Pontiac, Michigan; he preceded her in death on April 13, 1996. She was a secretary for many years at Saginaw Valley Oil Company. Marilyn was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, boating, watching Hallmark movies and cooking, especially for family gatherings. Above all, Marilyn cherished the time spent with her loving family.
Surviving are two daughters: Linda (Charles) Lindemann, Rebecca "Becky" Balden Barz; daughter-in-law: Priscilla Balden; eight grandchildren: Jessie, John, Renae, Christopher, Joshua, Laurel, Kristen, Amy; fifteen great-grandchildren. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Besides her husband and her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her son: Kenneth J. Balden Jr.; and her sister: Judie Carpenter.
Funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 12, 2021 at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road, Saginaw, Michigan 48609. Pastor Jerry Larkin will officiate with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit the family from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral chapel on Friday.
