Marilyn Lucille Pringle Of Merrill, MI
Monday, May 6, 2019, our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt passed away, age 94 years, after a brief illness.
Marilyn Lucille Swarthout Pringle was born September 19, 1924 to the late Vernon and Mary (Wolfgang) Swarthout in Wheeler, Michigan. She was one of 13 children. Marilyn married Gerald Pringle on March 31, 1944 in Gainsville, TX; he predeceased her on December 29, 2010. She was very proud of the fact that she worked in the Saginaw Gun Plant during WWII. Marilyn was a wonderful wife and mother; she always had excellent meals prepared and took great pride in her home. She followed in her familys tradition of making homemade noodles and made delicious dinners with those and the pheasant she prepared that her husband and brother, Arlen, would hunt in the fields behind their house. She also loved baking cookies and pies as well as reading and spending time with her family. Marilyn worked faithfully at Merrill Congregational Church, where she was an active member for over 70 years. She was very active in the Womens Fellowship and was the "greeting card lady" until December, 2018 at church.
Marilyns memory will be left to cherish by her daughters, Claudia (Ron) Kleppert-Meyer and Jacquelyn LaCosse and daughter-in-law, Mary Pringle; six grandchildren, Jill (Wade) Spiekerman, Nathan Kleppert, Melody (Troy) Oswald, Adam (Melissa) Pringle, Tiffany (Ethan) Symanski, and Courtney (Rob) Stratton; seven great-grandchildren, Coleton, Grace and Zach Pringle, Olivia, Ava and Alexa Oswald and Wren Spiekerman; and a brother, Arlen Swarthout. She is predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Gerald Pringle; a son, Rodney Pringle; as well as 11 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Merrill Congregational Christian Church, 245 S. Midland St in Merrill. Rev. Richard Gossett will officiate with burial to follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery in Breckenridge with a church luncheon to follow. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Merrill Congregational Christian Church.
