Marilyn Knight Sparks

Passed away peacefully on Monday, April 8, 2024, surrounded by her family, at the age of 84 years.

The daughter of the late Avery and Ruth (Wylie) Knight was born January 20, 1940 in Auburn, Michigan, and graduated from T.L. Handy High School, Class of 1958 and a member of the National Honor Society. She married Paul E. Paul, May 23, 1970. He passed away June 18, 1981. Later she married Ivan C. Sparks, April 28, 1984. He passed away February 10, 2013.  Marilyn retired from Consumers Energy after 40 years of service. She was a member of Swan Valley United Methodist Church. Marilyn was also a member of Martha Washington Order of Eastern Star, Ladies Oriental Shrine, Hillbilly Clan Outhouse #2, Past Directress of Jesterettes, American Legion Auxiliary, Loyal Order of the Moose, Pulasky Club, Eagles Auxiliary and Bee Sweet Red Hat Honeys.

Surviving are a stepdaughter Connie (Earl) Clark, stepson William (Eve) Sparks, six grandchildren and their spouses, Leann (Steve) Slasinski, Jospeh (Debbie) Sparks, Jennifer Rosser, Kelli (Rob) Benson, Jodi (D.J.) Henson, several great and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, a brother, David (Lynne) Knight and a sister, Lois Knight. She was predeceased by one sister, Joyce Knight.

The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 12, 2024 at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd.  Rev. Rob Richards will officiate with entombment in Oakwood Mausoleum. Friends may visit with family from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday and on Friday Morning until the time of the funeral service.
