Marion E. Mihalic left this earthly life for her heavenly home on Sunday, September 4, 2016 while residing at Hoyt Nursing Home & Rehab Center in Saginaw. Marion was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend living each day in her Christian faith. Marion was born September 2, 1919 in Prescott, MI; the daughter of Thomas F. & Arvilla (Bolster) Pillsbury. Marion married Frank G. Mihalic at St. Mary's Cathedral in Saginaw on December 21, 1943. He predeceased her in May of 1989. Surviving that union is one son, Frank J. Mihalic of Saginaw; two grandsons, Richard (Elizabeth) Mihalic Jr. and Michael (Patricia) Mihalic of Traverse City; four granddaughters, Michele (Justen) Schian of Birch Run, Jody Mihalic (Dave McKathan) of Williston, FL, Melissa (Daniel) Durow of Saginaw, and Jessica Mihalic (Brent Adkins) of Farmington Hills. Great-grandchildren include Steven and Amanda Mihalic (Chris Handlon), Morgan and Nicholas Mihalic, Tilden and Kayden Adkins, and Victoria Durow. Marion survived two beloved sons; Ronald E. Mihalic who predeceased her in April of 2002 and Richard L. Mihalic Sr. who predeceased her in October of 2015. Marion was also predeceased by two grandchildren, Tammy Renee and James Lewis Mihalic, one daughter-in-law, Joan V. Mihalic, five sisters and one brother. Marion is survived by one brother, Thomas J. (Maria) Pillsbury of Saginaw. Marion is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Marion was a well known antiques dealer, estate appraiser and liquidator from 1960 to 2005. She had her own shop in Bridgeport for many years, which she later moved to the gallery at Bay Antiques Center in Bay City. She also loved her flowers gardens irises and roses were her passions. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Ronald Sinclair will officiate with burial on Friday at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service.
