Marjorie Ruth (Snow) Toth Hemlock, Michigan
Passed away peacefully at Caretel Inns of Tri-Cities on December 11, 2017, at the age of 97. She was born December 27, 1919 in Gentry County, Missouri, and was the youngest of six children of James W. and Minerva S. (Posey) Snow. She married Paul Toth of Merrill, Michigan, on May 8, 1945. They met two years earlier in southern California where she was employed in an aircraft assembly plant (a real "Rosie the Riveter") and he was a Technical Sergeant in the Army Air Corps during World War II. After the war ended, they moved to Hemlock, where she became a lifelong resident. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were her husband of 43 years, Paul; brothers, Sherman and Noah Snow; sisters, Ethel Hill, Elsie Perkins, and Lucy Gallamore. She is survived by: sons, Dennis (Kathy) of Freeland and David (Jeanne) of Spring Hill, Tennessee; daughter, Donna Toth-Shelly of Pflugerville, Texas; grandchildren Brian (Susan) Toth of Birmingham, Alabama; Amy (Jeffrey) Suppinger of Franklin, Tennessee; Molly (Dustin) Christians of Allendale; Angie (Kevin) Finegan of Wichita Falls, Texas; and Spencer (Kierstin) Toth of Rockford; and great-grandchildren Justin, Emily, Claire, Lacey, Carter, and Bennett. Marjorie was a devoted homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed all types of needlework, especially crocheting and quilting. Other hobbies included collecting buttons, reading, gardening, and canning. Marjorie also enjoyed exchanging letters with her sisters and visiting with family in Missouri, Kansas, and California over the years. Marjorie attended Hemlock United Methodist Church. She did volunteer work at both the church and the Raucholz Memorial Library. She was a member of the Lakefield Quilting Club for several years. The family would like to express gratitude to the kind friends and neighbors, always willing to help Marjorie. And a special thanks to the staff of Caretel Inns of Tri-Cities for their excellent care. Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Saginaw. A memorial service is being planned and will be scheduled for a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Marjories name to the American Heart Association or the charity of your choice.
