Marjory Leaman Fox

Fox, Marjory F. (Leaman) Freeland, Michigan Passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at Covenant Medical Center, at the age of 96 years. Marjory F. Pettis was born September 14, 1917, in Fremont Township, the daughter of the late Walter and Rachel Anna (Simons) Pettis. She graduated from Arthur Hill High School with the Class of 1935. She married Robert Leaman on May 7, 1940; he predeceased her December 30, 1965. She later married Ray Fox, who predeceased her May 6, 1992. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Freeland until moving to Luther Manor in 2010. She was also a member of the Freeland Senior Citizens Center. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting Afghans, mittens and hats for family and friends. She loved dancing, playing cards, and gardening. Surviving are six children, Jim and Joyce Leaman, Freeland; Donna and Curtis Wilson, Phoenix, Arizona; Carol and Rick Storch, Frankenmuth; Lois LaLonde, Peoria, Arizona; Brenda Boughner, Saginaw; Penny and Craig Finkbeiner, Midland; a step-daughter, Elaine Leaman; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren; 1 step-great-great-grandchild; many nieces, nephews and their families. She was predeceased by a grandson, Cory Ezra Finkbeiner, a step-son, Dale Leaman, and three brothers, Arthur, Albert and Norman. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at First Baptist Church of Freeland, 8445 Webster Street, Freeland. Pastor Ben Cutshall will officiate with burial in Owen Cemetery. Her family will receive friends at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, from 2:00 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 24, and then at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
