Beloved husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, December 21, 2019. He was 56 years old. Mark was born on June 30, 1963 to the late John and Jeanne (Cockburn) Pilkington in Saginaw. He graduated from St. Stephens High School and received his Associate Degree from Delta College. Mark married Jennifer Sovia on June 12, 1999; she survives him. He enjoyed computers and it was joked that he made it to the end of the internet. He loved trains and was an avid Notre Dame football fan. Mark also loved his pets; Mable, and his late dog, Abby. He didnt know how to love other than unconditionally and he was an incredibly proud father to his three children, Malory Jordan (Josh) Lopez, Nicholas John Pilkington, and Amanda Jeanne Pilkington and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of Baby Lopez. Along with his wife and children, Mark is survived by six siblings, John (Linda) Pilkington, Jenny (Dave) VanDoran, Andy (Debi) Pilkington, Amy (Kirk) Lauckner, Beth (Kevin) Marciniak, and Richard Pilkington; parents-in-law, Bud and Diane Sovia; four siblings-in-law, Michele (Jamie) Pinks, Chad Sovia, Danielle (John) Rogers, and Matt (Nickie) Sovia; as well as many nieces, nephews, and close friends. Honoring Marks wishes cremation has taken place. A funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Nativity Lutheran Church, 625 W Clinton St, St Charles, MI. Rev. Mitchell Vogeli will officiate. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday at the church from 12:00 Noon until the time of the funeral service.
