Marsha Sue Porath

Marsha Sue Porath Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Monday, May 12, 2014, at the Cartwright Care Residence. Age 53 years. The daughter of the late Dorothy (Sherbino) Canel and Harry Putnam Jr. was born July 16, 1960 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Brian S. Porath, July 17, 1982. He survives her. Marsha was a graduate and homecoming queen at Eisenhower High School. She graduated with honors from the Delta College Dental School and was employed as a Dental Hygienist with Dr. Cichowski and Dr. Trudo for the past 28 years. She was an active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and served on Mission trips to Mexico. Marsha loved her children and attending their sporting events and activities. She was an artist and painter, enjoyed scrapbooking. Surviving besides her husband, Brian, are a daughter and two sons, Holly Porath, Chicago, IL; Jacob Porath, Kalamazoo, MI; Sean Porath, Saginaw, MI; two brothers and their wives, Mark and Sally Putnam; Michael and Barb Putnam, all of Saginaw, MI; her step-mother, Connie Putnam; her Step-brother and wife, Brad and Sherri Lewinski; her sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and their spouses, Judy and Scott Berger; Ken Porath; Tom and Amanda Porath; Sharon Porath; several nieces and nephews. A daughter, Erin Nicole Porath, her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Joyce and Milton Porath have predeceased her. The funeral liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2014, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St. Saginaw. Rev. Randy Kelly will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. from 2:00-9:00 p.m. Thursday where a vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friends may then call at the Church from 10:00 a.m. Friday until the time of the funeral liturgy. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the University of Michigan Neurology/Oncology program or the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation.
