Dahl I, Martin W. Saginaw, MI Beloved Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and Brother, passed away Friday, January 4, 2019 at the age of 91. The son of late F. Anton and Eva (Foster) Dahl, was born in Midland County Michigan March 26, 1927. He married the love of his life, Betty V. Schardt, on September 4, 1948 in Angola, Indiana. She predeceased him on May 13, 2000. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, a life member of Saginaw Chapter 4 Disabled American Veterans having served in the U.S. Navy in the North Pacific during WW II. He retired from Wickes Machine Tool and Saginaw Machine Tool Systems after 38 years of service. Surviving are 4 children Judy (John) Ruppel, Martin W (Cheryl) Dahl II of Saginaw, Shari (Scott) Colpean of Thomas Township and Sandra (Timothy) Nommensen of Deerfield, Wisconsin. Grandchildren Jeremy Reis, Mary Kelley, Paula (Karl) Hiipakka, Peter (Katrina) Dahl, James Colpean, Aimee (Chris Beyer), Bethany, Krista, and Timothy Nommensen and Great Grandchildren Gabriele Nommensen, Davis and Drake Hiipakka. Sisters Norma Viola/Bell and Eunice Kotcher. He was predeceased by 1 brother and 7 sisters Hazel Flauding/Weymouth, Pauline Allswede/Weston, Frances Krupka, Dolores Dahl, Ruth Heinitz/Welsh, Ruby Layman/Hoagland, Harold Dahl and Betty Bernard. Funeral service will take place 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 2565 N. Miller Rd Saginaw. Rev. Mark Hill and Rev. Bob Allmann will officiate, with military honors under the auspices of the U. S. Navy. Private burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at W.L Case and Company 201 N. Miller Rd on Monday from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M and on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until time of service.
