Marvin Lowell Hutfilz

Marvin L. Hutfilz Merrill, Michigan Passed away Friday, January 3, 2014, at the Cartwright Care Residence. Age 77 years. The son of the late William and Elsie (Emma) Hutfilz was born December 9, 1936 in Merrill, Michigan. He was a graduate of Merrill High School Class of 1954 and served with the U.S. Air Force in Korea. He married Doris Helfrecht who predeceased him. He later married Shirley J. Bigelow, September 4, 1970. She survives him. Marvin was employed by General Motors, Malleable Iron Foundry retiring in 1990 with thirty-one years of service. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church and enjoyed sports, particularly softball and golf. Surviving besides his wife, Shirley, are a sister and brother-in-law, Lois and William Rohde; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Matthew. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 2461 N. Raucholz Rd. Hemlock. Rev. Dr. William L. Morris and Rev. Richard E. Mundt will officiate. Memorial visitation will be held at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel in Merrill from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Monday, January 6, 2014, and then at the Church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service.
